As you know most of the Android Devices won’t play 4K Videos and on YouTube app the Video quality is depends upon Smartphone resolution and pixels.

4K Videos are also not compatible with Google Apps and some other external video players on Android Platform like MX Player, VLC Player, etc.

There’s no other way for us to play 4K videos on Android’s YouTube App and also on other Video Players due to mobile resolution it’s been fixed. So, we can’t increase the video resolution on Android Devices. 

But, there’s many third-party apps by which we can play 4K videos on any Android Device…….

In this article I’m going to tell you how to play 4K videos on and android device by a third-party app and also by using Google chrome.

 

Playing 4K Videos on Android by Using third-party apps:

 There are many third-party apps which doesn’t use Google Framework Libraries or the YouTube API and those type of Apps uses only parses the website in order to gain information from the site.

This third-party apps can also be run on Android Devices in which Google Services are not Installed.

To Play 4K YouTube Videos on any Android Device you need to download NewPipe – The Lightweight YouTube Experience for Android and this App is not available on Google Play Store.

So, you need to download it from its Official Website NewPipe.

NewPipe is an Android application which doesn’t use Google Framework Libraries or YouTube API. It is an Open Source free to use application software from Team NewPipe.

The Great thing about this application is that they provided their source code in their GitHub account.

Step 1:

Download New Pipe Application from its Official Website or from any other websites.

Click here to download NewPipe from Official Website.

Click here download NewPipe Application from External Source.

Step 2:

Install NewPipe Application on your Android Device.

To Install NewPipe, you need to allow your android device to install apps from unknown sources.

You can do it by Allowing installation of apps from unknown sources.

To Enable this setting in your Android mobile

• Open Settings.
• Go to Security.

In Device Administration section you will find unknown sources.

• Turn on Unknown Sources and That’s it.

• After this Install NewPipe Application.

 

Step 3:

• Open NewPipe.
• Go to Settings by clicking 3 dotted button on upper right side.

• Select Video and Audio from Settings.

• Now here, you need to change resolution settings of both default resolution and default popup resolution to best resolution as shown in below image.

• After that, Enable Higher Resolution option to play your device 2K and 4K videos.

Step 4:

• Now Search for any 4K video in NewPipe App.
• Open video and select video quality.

• In video quality options you can set video resolution up to 4K as shown in below image. 

Now you can enjoy 4K YouTube video in your android device.

 

Alternate Method:

The Alternate method for playing YouTube Videos on your android device is by using Google Chrome.

Yes, by opening YouTube as a desktop site in your chrome you can watch 4K videos of YouTube in your Google Chrome browser.

Here is a complete steps to play 4K YouTube Videos on Google Chrome.

• Open Google Chrome.
• Enter url: https://m.youtube.com

• Now click on three dots from top right corner and enable desktop site.

That’s it.

• Now search for any 4K video and play the video.

• Now Select quality you can here choose 4K resolution and watch video at 4K in Google Chrome

By this two methods you can play 4K YouTube videos on any Android Smartphone device.
